Start-up Training
Start-up training is conducted in conjunction with the commissioning of your new equipment. Technicians are trained on how to conduct a start-up. The instructor manages the start-up and the students perform the tasks. If any troubleshooting is required the instructor will coach the students through the problem. Each student is provided with a customized technical reference manual.
Training delivery is a combination of group discussion and the start-up activities.
-
We begin by reviewing the installation requirements and the system wiring diagrams followed by a review of the actual feed system installation and wiring.
-
When all wiring and installation requirements have been verified, the technicians will begin to learn about the motor control system and the basics of operating the K-Tron user interface. This will be followed by starting up the motors and checking for proper operation of the motor control systems.
-
Next the technicians are introduced to the K-Tron weighing system. In the classroom they will learn about K-Tron's weighing technology. In conjuction with this they will learn how to use the user interface to verify that the weighing system is operating correctly. They will then go out to the feeders to demonstrate their knowledge by actually testing the weighing systems of your feeders.
-
At this point the technicians are ready to learn about the feeder operations and control concepts. They will explore, in more depth, the programming parameters. This is first in a classroom setting. You may decide to invite your operators to this portion of the training. Following the classroom instruction the students will go out to the feeders and proceed to test the equipment with material.
-
If you are using "Recipe Control" with our Smart Commander or KSL, we would continue by teaching this principle. The students would then demonstrate an ability to program, edit and activate recipes.
If your K-Tron system is communicating with a PLC, we can conclude by assisting you in this process.
