PITMAN, NJ (April 18, 2005)—The K-Tron Feeder Group will exhibit its most recent concept in micro ingredient feeding, the micro feeder MT12, at the Interphex Pharmaceutical Show in New York, April 26-28, 2005, in Booth 2055. Available in both pharmaceutical and industrial models, the MT12 will accurately feed free flowing to difficult to handle powders at rates as low as 20 grams / hour and as high as 2000 grams/ hour, depending on material and installation environment. Both loss-in-weight (model K-CL-24-MT-12) and volumetric (model K-CV-MT-12) feeder models will be available for continuous or batch operation. |

The compact feeder is designed for ease of disassembly, allowing fast and easy cleaning. The feeder design also allows the feeder bowl to discharge almost completely when emptying, leaving minimal amounts of residual material. Models meeting European ATEX and USA Hazardous Area standards are planned.
The 24 kilogram scale for loss-in-weight models can be installed with an optional draft shield, as is customarily the practice when weighing at very low rates. Typical applications for the micro feeder include feeding jet mills, tablet presses, continuous extrusion processes and any application where expensive micro ingredients require accurate feeding.
